Career Training

 

 Pippin Equestrian is a British Horse Society approved 'Where to Train' centre and holds BHS examinations throughout the year.

Part-Time courses - Commencing September 2007
Stages I and II  Tuesdays or Saturdays - 12 week course commencing 17th September.   20 week course commencing 12th January.
Stage III - Tuesdays or Saturdays - 24 week course commencing 15th september
Preliminary Teaching test - tuesdays - 20 week course commencing week of 15th September

Short term/intensive courses
We offer intensive tuition packages for people wishing to gain a British Horse Society qualification.  For BHS staes examinations, each day consists of two mounted group sessions and one theory/practical stable management lecture.  We cater for the needs of the individual focusing on flatwork/jumping or a combination of both.  The stages courses operate from 0900 hrs to 1230 hrs.  For the BHS Preliminary Teaching option an additional hour is allocated for formal teaching practice and there is plenty of opportunity to assist in one of the many lessons running at our riding school.   Training for the Intermediate Teaching examination is on a tailor made basis.  Please contact us for more information.

Examination dates in 2008
BHS Stage I  -  May 12th, October 13
BHS Stage II - June 30th
BHS Stage III - April 21st, September 8th, September 29th
BHS Stage IV- April 28th, September 15th

 

  1 year working student course
The Modern Apprenticeship course studying towards NVQ level 2  or Advanced Modern Apprenticeship/NVQ3 is for one year, generally commencing in September. (Occasionally we have vacancies at other times of the year).  You will be part of the yard team and your duties will include all aspects of stable management ie.e. mucking out, cleaning tack, assisting with riding lessons, field maintenance etc.  In fact you will take part in everything needed to run a busy centre such as ours.  We also offer - 5 day week, opportuing to compete, Guaranteed regular lessons in riding and stable management and a weekly wage.
